The project is conceived as a container building. The challenge lies in creating functional, engaging space using containers. Admittedly, this task has shown itself to be challenging and not a straightforward solution. The rigor of the modular containers creates the unintended effect of limiting free space, nuanced and highly refined in-between spaces, and required diligent adherence to building within a set of rules. The ultimate effect was well received, and we believe it opportunistic for a community like Delta to portray itself as a design leader to a growing surrounding community. The program area grew from a single to 2 storey including vertical lift, change rooms, washrooms, and a training room. The project is currently in the next stages of design, working closely with our City of Delta stakeholder group.
